Charity

10th anniversary of “Musik Hilft – artists and organizers team up to support a worthy cause”
on April 27 at the English Theatre.

Wonderful artists representing different genres will perform in a very special location: On stage of the English Theatre Frankfurt will appear the internationally celebrated solo-violinist Sophia Jaffé, singer, pianist and actress Sabine Fischmann, soprano singer Heidrun Kordes, Oliver Steller, the “voice of German lyrics” with his guitar, multitalented Michael Quast and pianists Thorsten Larbig and Peter Glaßner. They will be joined by the Band Ali Neander (guitar), Christoph Auperle (vibraphone) and Andreas Neubauer (drums).

The idea of Musik Hilft came up during the Tsunami in 2005. Artist Sabine Fischmann and journalist Birgid Groscurth (Ars Vivendi) spontaneously organized a charity concert in the Kronberger Stadthalle combining various genres of music and poetry of the highest quality on the same stage. Everybody taking part – artists, organizers and the town hall – waived their fees in order to support the construction of a new school in the North of Sri Lanka. Since then, more than 15 concerts took place at the same conditions, in various locations and for different causes in Germany and abroad. Help was given for example to projects in Malawi, Cochabamba (Bolivia), Central Africa, the children’s surgery at the “Städtische Kliniken Frankfurt Höchst”, and, in cooperation with Zonta-Club Bad Soden-Kronberg, to two of their projects: the “Frauenhaus Hofheim” and a girl’s school in Poli Singisi, Tansania. This cooperation turned out to be so efficient that Musik Hilft will cooperate this year not only with Zonta Bad Soden-Kronberg, but also with Zonta Club Frankfurt am Main and Zonta Club Frankfurt II Rhein–Main.

All revenues will go to the MädchenBüro and the Jungentreff, both part of the Nachbarschaftsheim Bockenheim e.V. who will present their projects.
